Your stomach is forever crying hungry and your taste buds are on the watch? Consider Jackpot will have everything to satisfy them no matter if it’s 7 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon or 10:30 p.m. Breakfast, brunch, board and service at any time of the day make Jackpot an ultra-complete bar-restaurant where we could spend the whole day.
Open in early 2018, Jackpot is chef Julien Agobert’s second address who opened eleven years ago his gastronomic restaurant, Monjul. Tired of unflavored croques-monsieur and other boards of cheese that seem to come straight from a supermarket, Julien Agobert opened Jackpot with a clear objective in mind: bringing good food at the bar, so that he can make Licence IV rime with beautiful flavors.
In the absence of being night owls at Jackpot, we come at lunchtime where a lunch offer is served for €19. Loyal to the rest of the menu that offers only small plates (from €4.50 to €11), our lunch includes three small savory dishes and one sweet dish. The particularity here is that we can enjoy one of the savory dishes as much as you want! Jackpot pleases big eaters as well as small ones.
Today, since the menu changes almost every day, we’re served a world tour with very spicy tuna makis, eggplants with labneh inspired by Lebanon, squid steak and grilled leeks, as well as a pineapple and ginger carpaccio with a curry mascarpone worthy of the West Indies. We share the latter with the second dessert of the day: an ultra-light yogurt mousse and its small lemon cake cubes. Sophisticated dishes but without fuss and especially, they’re good!
Conquered by this first experience, we’ll easily go for the cocktails, the happy hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the boards (€18 max)… We’ll have to come back to Jackpot for a pre-dinner drink!
