L’Enoteca: Charming Italian restaurant and wine cellar in the Marais area

L’Enoteca is part of those irresistible tables in Le Marais since it has been offering you for almost 30 years to come and enjoy tasty Italian cuisine around very good wines. On the menu, Transalpine specialties, especially pasta, as well as candied eggplant.

At the corner of the rue Charles V and rue Saint Paul, L’Enoteca welcomes you in an intimate and charming setting from the 17th century, listed.
Like at Chez Julien, another restaurant owned by the same owners, set not far from there.
Murano glass hangings, marble tables, exposed stones walls, beams from 1600… The warmth of the upstair dinning room is lovely, but in this season, we cannot resist the terrace set in the quiet and empty rue Chales V.

Italian food institution for many years, L'Enoteca stands out thanks to its wine cellar. The restaurant serves a very wide range of transalpine wines, including Moscato d'Asti, among other vintages.

Moving on to food, as a starter on L'Enoteca menu, Italian specialties such as vitello tonnato among others. Here, the delicious veal slices do not bathe in tunna mayonnaise. The condiment is put over the meat so you can eat each element on their own. Also on the menu, some Sicilian black pork ham served with green tomato jam. Simple and effective, twisted with some original condiment.

When visiting L'Enoteca, you cannot say no to the house's signature recipes. The Parpadelle al brasato di manzo namely fresh homemade pasta with stewed beef are very hearty, sprinkled with parmesan grated on demand. Also available, more typically Italian pasta recipes, as well as fishes and meats.

Although hearty, you cannot say not to L'Enoteca's flagship dessert, another signature recipe: the Corleone. Namely candied eggplant. As surprising as it sounds, this vegetable is served as dessert. Its long cooking time makes us forget we are enjoying a vegetable because of how sweet and nice it tastes. It is all the more original, indulging, delicious, creamy... The eggplant is served with candied orange zests and chocolate.

To make sure we are not denying ourselves the pleasure, L'Enoteca has been named Paris's best wine cellar and serves 400 references of Italian vintages.
