Brunch lovers, a new address has opened in Paris 9th arrondissement and we can enjoy a gourmet, healthy and homemade brunch. The name of this lovely address: Café Mimosa – not to be mistaken with Café Mimosa in Les Halles.
Set in a quiet and sunny street, two positive aspects, Café Mimosa offers on Saturdays a brunch set menu for €29 full of good things.
First things first, we start with a lungo by L’Arbre à Café, a freshly squeezed orange juice and a juice of the day – that day: apple-lemon – that accompany our tasting of homemade pastries: orange blossom, banana and honey pancakes on one side of the table, carrot cake on the other! But you can choose the marbled cake, the madeleines, the hazelnut/salted caramel cookie or the homemade granola!
Note that Café Mimosa also cooks its very own brioche to be enjoyed with jam – homemade too. And we love it.
Then, it’s time to move on to savory dishes with a super fresh and healthy salad: quinoa, avocado, crispy zucchini, pink radish, lemon zest, hazelnut, pumpkin seeds and basil. With the current heat, it’s perfect.
Finally, you can choose between two dishes in this gourmet brunch: an open sandwich with whole bread topped with avocado, grapefruit, crispy fennel, pumpkin seeds or the caviar of scrambled eggs (cleverly plated in a caviar box), smoked haddock shavings, fried panisse and young sprouts salad. Between the two, I don’t know where to start, and we naturally decide to try both of them!
Brand-new in Paris and facing many competitors in terms of brunches, Café Mimosa deserves us to stop by.
