“Roasted today as yesterday”: Here’s the promise of Poulet Rouge, a new gourmet address nestled in Les Batignolles area in Paris.
As you may have guessed it, Poulet Rouge gives pride of place to… chicken! Yes, but not any kind. At Poulet Rouge, chicken is certified Label Rouge. ["The Label Rouge certifies that food or non-food and unprocessed agricultural products have specific characteristics establishing a higher quality level, due primarily to their particular production conditions and workmanship and conforming to specifications, which set them apart from other similar food and products normally sold. " (art. L.641-1 the Rural Code)]
At Poulet Rouge, you can eat on the spot but there are only about fifteen seats, so you can also choose take-away chicken. But you can also choose for the delivery service.
On the menu? Chicken of course. (Organic) wings, breasts and whole chickens… The whole marinated and roasted in the purest French tradition.
The restaurant has developed exclusive recipes of marinade with herbs, spicy (including peppers), mustard, lemon, ginger (the subtlest) that make the originality and the uniqueness of Poulet Rouge.
You can also pay no heed to cuts and choose a whole chicken or half chicken, marinated or not but most of all roasted.
Allow €6 to €21 according to the size and the cut of chicken you chose.
To accompany your meat, Poulet Rouge offers baby potatoes (two ways, cooked in the broiler or roasted with thyme and Guérande salt), tasty fresh and homemade French fries, roasted pineapple, honey-roasted carrots and even zucchinis. Vegetables change according to days and seasons. Servings cost between €2.50 and €3.
Know that roasted chicken is also available in sandwich.
For desserts, everything is artisanal or homemade. According to deliveries, you’ve got yogurt to drink, fruits, cookies, rice pudding, homemade chocolate cake, cottage cheese. Desserts cost between €2.50 and €3.90.
In terms of drinks, artisanal lemonade, organic iced tea, homemade lemonade and even “Gallia”, locally brewed beer in Pantin to enjoy in jam jars working as glasses.
About prices, you’ve noticed, they’re not very high. A will of the restaurant to offer only Label Rouge chicken as KFC price.
