It’s hard to believe it and yet, it’s true, you can find restaurants serving good food for an affordable price in Paris 16th arrondissement.
Set a stone’s throw from the Pont du Garigliano and a few steps from the Seine, La Pizza d'Anita serves Italian specialties for a rather surprising price in light of the neighborhood.
The restaurant is rather small, but not too noisy (for dinner) and displays red hues. It also features a lovely terrace (almost) by the Seine. There isn’t too much traffic, and the restaurant looks very beautiful with its light strings.
At nighttime, inside, the atmosphere is like a lounge, very intimate with soft light and candles on the tables.
On the menu, traditional Italian dishes and what you can usually find in a trattoria. As for starters (starting from €7), you can choose between vegetables, fritters, hams and different carpaccios. We went for a big (and very hearty) plate of Bresaola carpaccio for €14.
Also available on the menu, many pizzas (starting from €11), but Neapolitan style, with a not-too thick crust, the place’s specialty. The signature dish? La Pizza d’Anita with its truffled cream, mozzarella, mushrooms, semi-dried tomatoes, fresh basil and to your liking speck or bresaola. And of course, when we saw this recipe, we couldn’t resist. La Pizza d’Anita is an excellent pizza with black truffle present but not too much. Perfectly seasoned, it’s not too expensive (€18 for the truffle, which is rare).
And apparently, we weren’t the only ones enjoying the pizzas since many delivery drivers and patrons ordered them all night long.
La Pizza d’Anita also serves pasta (starting from €12) including linguine alla carbonara by Alex (€13), a 100% French recipe with crème fraiche. You’ve been warned. A few more meats come to complete the already rich offer.
For dessert, Transalpine classics: ice creams, panna cotta, tiramisu, profiteroles and even rum baba.
We love the rock/90’s playlist including Nirvana or even Dr Dre.
So, if you happen to be in Paris 16th arrondissement and you’re looking for a place to eat or if you’re working in the area and looking for a new canteen, look no more, we’ve got you covered with La Pizza d’Anita.
