Paris has a lot to offer when it comes to restaurants but it’s not always easy to pick one restaurant likely to delight all guests! Luckily, we can help you out and if you happen to find yourselves in the Ternes area, we have a sure bet: L’Escient, a small family canteen on rue Poncelet.
L’Escient is a family business! The family Méchin provides locals and passing foodies a precise, intuitive and generous bistronomic cuisine with flavors paced by seasons. In the kitchen we have Pierre and Claire, a father-daughter duo while the mother, Catherine, takes care of the dining room!
Pierre is the marinade champion! He loves marinating meats and fishes and he masters perfect cookings. As for Claire, she concocts very lovely starters with clear tastes such as the delicious gravlax salmon, black curry sauce and she also takes care of desserts.
Moving on to main courses, we love the Marinated beef “weeping tiger” style, a delicious and super-tender beef fillet just perfectly spiced.
And on the third Thursday of the month, discover the “barbecue” night only at L’Escient. Indeed, the chef offers you to discover his special char-grilled meat and fish on the Big Green Egg, an Asia-inspired barbecue of which the earthenware reflects the heat inside and generates an air flow that makes ingredients incredible soft.
In other words, L’Escient offers contemporary French food inspired and fed with flavors from all over the world, and especially from Asia. Claire and Pierre only cook super-fresh ingredients and favor local, organic and sustainable farming.
