La Gare is not your average restaurant. Set in chaussée de la Muette in Paris 16th arrondissement, this former Parisian railway station adjusted as a restaurant in the 90’s.
In 2017, Moma Group has decided to purchase it and to give it a new breath of life. Covering 600-sqm and two floors and featuring 300 seats, La Gare has everything to please.
Just to give it some pep’s and modernity, indoor designer Laura Gonzalez has thought about a colorful décor inspired by the exotic dishes cooked in the kitchen. Because in the kitchen, we have Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio.
Now running 50 restaurants in 12 countries, including two are on the Top 20 World's 15 Best Restaurants, chef Gastón Acurio is known in Paris as the ambassador of Peruvian cuisine thanks to the opening of Manko Paris.
This spring, Gastón Acurio is on everyone's lips again since he has agreed to create a new menu for La Gare. A menu likely to please world's cuisines fans. Peruvian cuisine, Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, Mexican cuisine, Italian cuisine... There's something for eveyrone! A bold and risky choice but that works and it did seduce our taste buds!
We really loved the starter to share, especially the incredible and oh-so soft cooked squid with olive oil and paprika, on its bed of potatoes, or the revisited maki with a tasty king prawn tartare, avocado, fried cassava and aji charapita cream.

Also discover the crispy tacos (lamb, chicken, shrimps or pork...) or the dim sum (chicken, shrimps, pork or beef) and the explosive Iberian ham fritters!

Moving on to main courses, you can choose between four Asian woks, fish dishes (cod, king prawns, fish skewers), charcoal cooked meat dishes served with sides (sweet potatoes, choclo corn, crispy potatoes...), as well as free range chicken from Périgord cooked on the grill, or even a cheeseburger for burger fans!
Prime rib of beef to share
The bonus? You can share some dishes as well as starters, like the huge prime rib of beef, the whole chicken and even fish!
Finally, in terms of desserts, you've got lots of choice between the French toats, the chocolate mousse, the tiramisu, the ice creams and the sorbets... And everything is obviously revisited and cooked the Gastón Acurio style!
To accompany all this, we recommend the excellent cocktails such as the traditional Pisco Sour or a revisited Spritz with champagne.
In the room, it's a true show with the countless dishes following one another and coming from the four different kitchens. Each one has its specialty: charcoal grilled food and rotisserie by the terrace, salads and ceviche in the rooms and even dim sum by the entrance...
All in all, the experience at the new La Gare restaurant took us on a very beautiful and tasty journey, helped by a smiling and welcoming staff, in a nice and warm setting (and on sunny days, head to the very lovely and large terrace). Yes, it's sure, La Gare remains one of the most irresistible places in Western Paris!
