Frango Churrasco is the great classic of the Portuguese gastronomy: a free-range chicken char-grilled and marinated in a special preparation.
Because yes, Frango Churrasco (or char-grilled chicken if you don’t speak Portuguese) is famous thanks to its preparation since it’s marinated in piri-piri (or bird’s eye chili, the traditional Portuguese sauce for grilled chicken!) overnight before getting char-grilled and baste with water so that the meat remains super soft in the mouth.
Let’s rest assure the sensitive taste buds: at Jorge, piri-piri can be enjoyed mild or super-spicy for the bravest. Moreover, here, the chicken is free-range and Red Label coming from small producers in Normandy or Ardèche.
At Jorge, chicken is cut in chunks to make the tasting easier whether it’s on the spot or to take away. You can enjoy it with seasonal vegetables, baby potatoes, roasted butternut and homemade sauces.
To your liking, the sauce Evora (based on avocado and lemon), the sauce Porto (based on olive oil and garlic), the sauce Lisboa (based on marinated bell peppers) or the sauce Parisienne (based on bacon and crème fraiche).
