At Biondi, sun is always welcome on the large 40-seat terrace and in the plates for Parisians’, tourists’ and gourmets’ delight.
Running this bistronomic table in Paris 11th arrondissement, Argentinean chef Fernando de Tomaso who puts in his plates all the culinary richness of his birth country.
For lunch, Biondi provides a very affordable lunch menu: €17 for starter-main course-dessert, €22 for a glass of wine. The authentic and tasty cuisine cooked by Fernando de Tomaso fits evert budget.
In the sun, we start browsing the daily menu and we’re drooling. The day we came, it was smoked herring and steamed potatoes or beef Anticucho and celery as starters. Anticucho is a specialty from South America: marinated and grilled beef, so good.
We also have a look at the menu and we pick 2 starters to share with the whole table: the irresistible empanadas de carne in their meat jus (€8) and the squid à la plancha with hummus and Kalamata olives (€10), grilled on the outside and very soft on the inside. True happiness.
We return to the lunch menu with the pork belly and mashed potatoes that we choose at the cost of the mouthwatering seabream à la plancha, zucchini and spinach. We don’t regret our choice, the pork is perfectly cooked and we eat it to the very last tidbit.
On the menu too, we decide to order the beef flank (€27), a noble and sliced piece of meat served with a generous plate of homemade mashed potatoes, whole and candied shallots, surprising cassava chips and chimichurri sauce, of course.
And to end on a sweet note, we enjoy the dulce de leche and coconut tart, the dessert of the day and a dessert with red berries, lime and meringue (€10).
Verdict, for an exotic lunch at a soft price, in the sun, let’s meet at Biondi all summer 2019 long!
