We love Eugène Eugène and its bucolic atmosphere in the heart of the city. From the street, nothing can let you guess there’s a winter garden hiding under the large 300-sqm glass roof.
Like a greenhouse, we have a large room with big plants and an industrial design with giant fans and wicker furniture, perfect on warm days. But the best is yet to come, the 200-sqm terrace has been fitted by Studio Ko indoor designers.
On sunny days, the hidden terrace is stormed by families and groups coming to enjoy some fresh air. It’s true we feel well!
On the menu? Avocado and tuna tartare, seabream ceviche, green asparagus and soft-boiled eggs, Basque sole filets with bell peppers and grilled squids. We go for the avocado to start with, then we enjoy some beef chuck steak, celery and ravigote sauce.
Dishes are just delicious, an explosion of flavors. Portions are made so that we can enjoy every bite, even when it’s super hot. We recommend the grilled squid, the house specialty you want to try asap… When the plate comes, we understand what we would have missed!
The chef is very talented, each course is a masterpiece and he has a secret: vegetables and aromatic herbs come from the adjoining terrace and garden you can visit.
After these dishes, the pastry chef recommends us the sesame emulsion, salted caramel and linen ice cream, a dessert that is very delightful no matter the weather. Sold, even though the dessert menus if delicious!
If the lunch seduced you, on Sundays, there’s a big all-you-can-eat buffet set in the greenhouse and no need to say you better book 2 to 3 weeks before and the terrace is always crowded from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
