Calling everyone looking for a change of scenery. Here is a beautiful spot you do not want to miss. Come along and enjoy Hôtel Castille a very charming five-star hotel set a stone's throw from the Tuileries garden and the Place de la Concorde. This is in this elegant and welcoming hotel that can be found one of the best Italian restaurants in Paris.
There you are, at L'Assagio, or Hotel Castille's restaurant, shining a light on Italian gastronomy. This spot, very famous among foodies in town, provides you with a sophisticated and avant-garde experience of Italian cuisine, based on seasonal and very high quality raw materials. These Mediterannean flavors are paired to French delicacy and the outcome is a treat to sore eyes and taste buds!
In a sophisticated and elegant decor, L'Assagio staff is very careful and skillful to make sure you are having a fantastic time. Although service is flawless, what makes the difference is how nice the staff is, they are warm and professional. Another reason this spot is a heart-stopper is the secret terrace featuring a magnificent mosaic mural and a Roman fountain. A very quiet area, safe from preying eyes, with the water flowing, a few trees here are there - olive trees, orange trees... At nightfall, candles and lights are lit: the place is magical!
Magic also happens in the kitchen! The menu has been created by chef Vasyl from Piedmont. He serves sophisticated but hearty dishes. As for us, we fell for the white fish carpaccio, sundried tomatoes, capers and Taggiasche olivers, a starter plated as an indulging work of art, as well as for the Burrata from Apulia, sun-filled tomatoes, basil, and sweet and sour onions from Tropea, a staple we cannot grow tired of, especially in the summer!
Moving on to main courses, generosity is the watchword with traditional dishes usually served for family reunions, but revisited chef Vasyl's style. We love the filet of the fish of the day (bluefin tuna the day we came) served with grilled eggplants, tomato coulis, and extra virgin oregano olive oil.
Once again, the amount of flavors show the quality of produces used and the perfectly cooked fish makes us melt in delight. Another guilty pleasure is available on the menu: the fresh black truffle taglioni. Spoiler alert: you will have a hard time (very hard time) resisting!
When time for dessert has come, we cannot even dare hesitating: tiramisu is a heart-stopper and we even dare say it is one of the best in Paris (if not THE best). Revisited for even more indulgence, it tastes mascarpone, coffee and is based on very moist cake.
It is now your turn to fall under the spell of Hotel Castille and their fantastic restaurant!
