L'Atelier 102 is an iconic address in the Pernety district: if you're a fan of bento and Japanese cuisine in general, we've found your new spot in the 14th arrondissement!

Situated on a quiet street in the 14th arrondissement,Atelier 102 catches the eye with its typically Japanese frontage, featuring ramen and bento designs and calligraphic lettering. Its name will ring a bell with locals, as it's been serving food for decades!

Since January 2019, Atelier 102 has changed its menu under the impetus of Mr. Kathiresu, a chef who has worked with Japanese chefs on rue Sainte-Anne. In his opinion, there was a need for a nice ramen restaurant in the neighborhood, so it's been solved!

The menu, displayed in the street, features bentos that marry meat and fish, body-warming ramen and tasty teriyaki chicken. It's all mouth-watering!

When you step inside, the ambience is calm and relaxing. Atelier 102's menu is displayed on a large slate inside, and a small card is brought to the table for our convenience.

The menu is quite large, with the must-haves of Japanese cuisine! We let ourselves be tempted by a bento and chicken-katsu, but we couldn't pass up the homemade gyosa and croquettes for starters.

The gyosa are crisp and melt-in-the-mouth, and the croquettes are a crowd-pleaser. You'll have to wait a little, because it's all homemade! The bento is a nice surprise: salmon, chicken, vegetables and beautifully presented rice, a complete meal for €14.80. As for the chicken-katsu, it's melt-in-your-mouth as we like it, topped with rice and cabbage.

Next to us, a curry and a ramen are served, both of which are very tempting, so that's for next time. The portions are copious, but you don't feel heavy at the end of the dish, which leaves room for a little dessert!

And fortunately so, because there's the traditional red bean mochi and dorayaki, as well as fromage blanc and ripe mango for a healthier but just as tasty dessert. These desserts make you feel like you've traveled to Japan.

We feel so at home in this cocoon that it takes us a few minutes to get up from our table. Clearly, Atelier 102 is a fine restaurant that will delight the whole neighborhood!
