Here’s to travel and gastronomy lovers! Delicatessen and restaurant Rusidda set in Paris 3rd arrondissement near République welcomes gourmets and foodies for lunch, dinner or aperitivo served by the house. A true corner of Sicily (and heaven…) set rue Borda, far from the hustle and bustle of the Avenue de Turbigo, for a unique break untouched by time.
As soon as you’re in this delicatessen, the travel happens: Sicilian cheeses, cold cuts, lasagna dishes, Italian pastries, pizzoli… As many delicious and homemade treats, thoroughly prepared by the Sicilian team running the store.
Note that all products are directly imported from the island, grown by local producers and available in direct sale on the spot. We even find – as curious as it could be – cosmetics and other ceramic decorations, also available on sale.
For the record, Rusidda is delicatessen boss Francesco Lombardo’s grandmother. He’s also the founder of two other restaurant not far from here, Norma and La Massara. And Rusidda is present here in the know-how and all the love of cooking, in fine and hearty dishes sweetly smelling of the Italian sun and holidays. On the menu – excluding pizzoli (sort of panini which bread is made of pizza dough), you better go for the menu of the day displaying a large number of dishes available. Lasagna, pasta salads and other seasonal fruits and vegetables… The choice is all yours.
A menu the editorial board tried and really enjoyed. As starters, pizzoli “Sfizioso” made of mozzarella fior di latte, pancetta, red endive and gorgonzola. So good! Let’s continue with pesto lasagna, rather delicate in the mouth, perfectly seasoned and light, so much that they don’t feel heavy in the stomach at the end of the meal. Hearty portions worthy of a meal at la mama’s… And last but not least, for dessert, a very traditional Sicilian cannolo! In other word, THE perfect spot to travel and enjoy the best of Sicily… Let’s book a table, friends!
