Owned by the Georges family for over 35 years, Hotel San Regis, a discreet and charming place of the Golden Triangle, entrusts chef Romain Leydier with the kitchen of restaurant Les Confidences.

Nestled in the heart of Hôtel San Régis, in the middle of the Golden Triangle, Les Confidences restaurant is a secret garden we can barely say it exists, because we’re afraid to take its discreet and timeless charm away from it. Famous for over a century, this former private mansion is owned by the Georges family for over 35 years and is now taken care of by Elie Georges’ daughters Sarah and Zeina and in which Lauren Bacall, Romy Schneider, Gene Kelly, Jacqueline Bisset, Candice Bergen and even Louis Malle were regulars.

This intimate and quiet place even houses a gourmet restaurant – the famous Les Confidences – a rare address that doesn’t seem to be touched by time and where you can enjoy a gourmet and very delightful moment. Recently arrived in the kitchen, the new chef, Romain Leydier has been well trained as he worked with the greatest chefs like Gérar Sallé or Meilleur Ouvrier de France Eric Briffard who taught him how to respect produces and how to cook them perfectly.

The day we came, the menu provided, for instance, incredible and perfectly cooked gambero rosso with chestnuts and chopped hazelnuts and some butternut squash soup (€19), some torched duck foie gras with “Pom! Pom! Pom!” touches (€20), then a delicate pearly cod fillet, mashed mushrooms with soy sauce 3 years of age, Lily Rose potato and almond milk emulsion (€26), roasted sea scallops, “celerisotto” with black truffle and grilled corn coulis (€30) and last but not least some green cardamom-candied pineapple, coconut milk emulsion and Madagascan vanilla (€12).

A very beautiful and neo-classic cuisine provided for remarkably wise prices, in an area where prices tend to be highly expensive, as you should allow about €60 excluding drinks for a memorable meal worthy of a starred restaurant. Who’s got better?

Honorable mention too to the thorough and discreet service by the maître d’hotel, Christophe Granier, as well as the lunch menu for only €45 (or €37 if you don’t have the starter or the dessert).
