Nestled in the heart of Hôtel San Régis, in the middle of the Golden Triangle, Les Confidences restaurant is a secret garden we can barely say it exists, because we are afraid to take its discreet and timeless charm away from it. Famous for over a century, this former private mansion is owned by the Georges family for over 35 years and is now taken care of by Elie Georges’ daughters Sarah and Zeina are now taking great care of it.
This intimate and quiet place even houses a gourmet restaurant – the famous Les Confidences – a rare address that does not seem to have been touched by time and where you can enjoy a gourmet and very delightful moment.
Despite its modest size, the restaurant provides several areas. A first bright room under the glass roof with views on the trompe-l'oeil garden. As well as another room, more hidden, with a fireplace, and huge impressive chandeliers and moldings.
For a few years now, chef Romain Leydier has been working at the Les Confidences where he serves French very sophisticated cuisine inspired by the world.
As a starter, go for the signature hibiscus flower-marinated salmon. A choice we did not regret. The fish was fresh, enhanced by seasoning and topped with fresh herbs. Also on the menu, foie gras ravioli and warm mushroom consommé.
Let us then move on to seared seabass, veal gravy with fresh truffle, plated on spinach and black olive gnocchis. Then again, this is perfectly mastered, the fish is cooked to the perfection. The flavor of gnocchis is very original. We also had the roasted suckling veal rack and lemon/basil mashed potatoes. The meat was as tender as can be, but the seasoning of the mash was very original too.
Moving on to dessert, we has the delicious puff chocolate tart, and the meringue with pistachio financier served with some sponge cake. Flawless desserts, like the rest of the meal.
The restaurant also offers a lovely selection of wines and champagnes especially with the Grand Siècle vintage by Laurent-Perrier or the Muscat from Corsica.
Les Confidences is open for all meals for hotel San Régis guests. But, for people outside the hotel, the restaurant opens from Monday to Friday for lunch, and from Tuesday to Saturday for dinner. One of the assets of the Les Confidences is the lunch menu for 45 and 55 euros, including all dishes on the menu.
On Sunday lunch, Les Confidences goes brunch mode with a seated service, off the menu and a buffet of tarts.
Last but not least, Les Confidences also enjoys a bar which beverages are served in the drawing room, including a fireplace, just across the restaurant.
