Have you heard of Pépita? It is new and to be discovered asap! Behind this restaurant, there is Saveriu Cacciari, already running Chez Minnà in Paris 10th arrondissement, L’Alivi in the 4th and the latest one, Alma, in the 2nd. To carry out this project well, Saveriu is not on his own, since he has decided to team up with his Minnà’s partner, Thibault Lussignol.
Behind the 50-seat terrace, there is this very beautiful indoor space which décor has been designed by the Agence DOD (Alma, Bouillon, Pigalle, Uno, Triplettes, Combat), created by David-Olivier Descombes. We love the plant ceiling mixed with the warm materials and the raw and recycled wood. The asset? A 40-seat room can be privatized in the basement.
As for the menu, it takes us on a journey with exquisite and merry Mediterranean flavors created by young chef Julien Bonci. To improve the recipes, Pépita first and foremost bets on products thoroughly sourced, tracked, natural and as organic as possible. A choice you can notice as soon as you get to browse the menu of starters: PDO organic burrata, homemade gazpacho, tapenade and basil, truffled ham, homemade beef Cecina… A piece od advice, go for the famous and irresistible 100% bellota Pata Negra, deliciously smooth. A pure delight to share or not!
How about having a pizza as a main? We loved the Pépita with cream, truffled ham, arugula and Stracciatella, without forgetting the roasted pistachio for the crunch. A wonder, both original and indulging, that seems to have delighted other patrons’ taste buds that evening.
As for the rest, you can choose between classics of the genre such as Margherita, four cheeses (PDO gorgonzola, PDO taleggio, mozzarella fior di latte, smoked scarmozza), or the delicious Parma with tomato sauce, PDO parmesan and arugula, of course. As for the others, discover the Speckita (tomato sauce, mozzarella fior di latte, PGI speck, sundried tomatoes and pesto).
But Pépita does do pizze only, you can also enjoy a salad including the Pepita Bowl (red and white quinoa, bulgur, roasted sweet potato, pomegranate, hummus, Taggiasca olives, white sauce, basil & lemon) or the Césarita (roman salad, crispy chicken, cherry tomatoes, red onions, croutons, parmesan and basil dressing). Last but not least, while waiting for the menu to be extended even more with pasta and squid to come soon, Pépita also does in Focaccia sandwich; vegetarian with truffle or mortadella… the hardest part is to choose!
Do you have an incorrigible sweet tooth? Pépita will blow you away with its exquisite homemade tiramisu with organic coffee! Light and tasty, this is a must to beautifully wrap your mela up. Or, you can have the red berry Panna Cotta.
And to accompany all these delicious plates, Pépita also provides a wonderful wine list (particularly organic and natural), coming from all over the Mediterranean such as the surprising and delicious “Nero d’Avola”, an organic wine from Sicily. Also available? Beer, “minute-made” detox juices, without forgetting original homemade cocktails such as the Kanela, a wonderful beverage perfectly balanced based on cinnamon liquor, lemon, apple juice and herb syrup.
In other words, if you fancy a trip to the Mediterranean Sea, look no more and head to Pépita!
