If you want to enjoy a good seasonal French cuisine in a chic setting, go to Mon Square, a restaurant in the 7th arrondissement of Paris that offers you a unique culinary journey, as much in its decor, its terrace as in its menu. We tested it, we tell you about it! To win your menu for two, go to the bottom of the page.

For some time now, the capital has seen several new gourmet addresses blossom. From the most chic to those inviting to travel ... there is something for everyone. Among these new restaurants, opened in 2020 but forced to close in confinement, Mon Square...

This new place is the very first restaurant signed Quentin de Fleuriau. After having worked for ten years with the Costes brothers, the restaurateur is taking on new challenges with the opening of this address, located at No. 31 of the famous rue Saint-Dominique.

To please your taste buds, Mon Square has chosen to honor the French seasonal cuisine with several classics of chic brasserie on the menu, such as lacquered salmon, scallop carpaccio, roasted sea bass filet, Burgundy giants or linguine with winter truffles... All of this is to be enjoyed with a fine selection of wines or clever beverages that can be sipped at the bar or on the heated garden terrace.

A menu that the editors were able to test... We were tempted, as a starter, by the roasted cauliflower, accompanied by homemade hummus, as well as by the carpaccio of scallops. Two starters relatively simple in their conception, particularly well presented and well executed. We appreciate the freshness of the tartar, which goes perfectly with the vinaigrette and the mango purée for a sweet touch. Concerning the cauliflower, we also appreciate the pomegranate seeds, bringing a touch of sweetness also, to the cauliflower.

As for the dish, we opted for the sea bass steak and its yuzu butter. A balance of flavors unstoppable, thanks to the yuzu butter, frothy and airy. For dessert, to finish, the"Choco Square", a chocolate and salted butter caramel bar, drizzled with custard. An ultra greedy dessert that we can only recommend to you.

As for the decoration, Mon Square did not skimp on the means and reveals an arty atmosphere thought by the architect of the place Florence Lopez. The latter called upon three artists to sublimate the restaurant: Sacha Floch Poliakoff who hand-painted flowery canvases on the walls, the Lisbon ceramist Bela Silva who also hand-crafted several beautiful pieces such as a monumental tree above the bar, and finally Mathias Kiss who signed the private Kiss Room for Mon Square...

In short, a beautiful address to discover if you pass in the 7th district of Paris. Shall we go there, friends?
