A small corner of Italy has opened on a discreet street in Paris 10th arrondissement, not far from the Gare du Nord. Its name? Doppio! So, perhaps this name rings a bell… We have to say that Doppio already ahs a restaurant in the 18th arrondissement. Four years after its opening, the three associates at the origin of the tasty project gave birth – in June 2019 – to a second Doppio restaurant. This time, the three friends have decided to storm the 10th arrondissement.
Displaying a bright and modern décor, with velvet chairs and bench seats and a large mirror, we fall in love with the very beautiful counter behind which spirit bottles stand. Doppio 10 enjoys a nice cocktail list with classics from Italy like Spritz or Negroni or even Martini Tonic, but also unforgettable mixology classics like Pisco Sour, Moscow Mule and Daiquiri.
Like its older brother, Doppio 10 gives pride of place to Italian flavors with fresh pastas, antipasti and Italian desserts.
On the menu? Tasty and hearty dishes that make us travel. We can think about the squid salad, finely sliced and perfectly cooked, served with baby potatoes, tomatoes, shallots, garlic, mixed salad and parsley.
As for antipasti, there are classics based on burrata (creamy or truffled) or seafood antipasti with razor clams Venetian style based on white wine.
Moving on to main courses, we fell in love with the artichoke and ricotta raviolis at the first bite. Raviolis are stuffed with roasted artichokes and served along with a delicious artichoke cream. so good!
Honorable mention to the Tagliatelle Pollo e Tartuffo based on roasted chicken breast, black truffle cream, button mushroom and parsley.
Doppio also provides us with unmissable pasta with four cheeses, Fusilli Norma with homemade tomato sauce, fried tomatoes and eggplants, mozzarella and basil. As for the seaside, enjoy some Spaghetti al Polpo or Vongole with clams.
For risotto lovers, discover the classic risotto Funghi with mushrooms and white wine. As for meat eaters, they’ll go for the Milanese escalope with breaded veal. And for a delicious surf and turf dish, go for the Italian sausage and squid skewer!
To end on a sweet note, enjoy the famous tiramisu or the panna cotta. To be more original, we went for the cheesecake. Explosion of flavors ahead with this dessert revisited with mascarpone, crunchy speculoos cookie and an incredible lemon cream… Delightful!
To pair your meal, Doppio provides a wonderful selection of wines coming from Piedmont, Puglia and even Sicily. We fell in love with the Barbera d’Asti thoroughly recommended by the restaurant manager.
In other words, a delicious travel to Italy, go ahead and discover this new Doppio restaurant.
