At l'Atelier Fratelli, focaccia is king, with fresh, tasty ingredients. For pasta lovers, fresh pasta is also on the menu!

Head for the heights of the Ménilmontant district to discover L'Atelier Fratelli, a lovely spot dedicated to focaccia. If the name sounds familiar, it's not surprising: L'Atelier Fratelli used to be located on rue de la Chine, not far from the new address.

Now, the old address is the Atelier Fratelli laboratory, while the new one offers a larger, more comfortable space (with a lovely mezzanine!) for gourmets to enjoy freshly prepared goodies on the premises or to take away.

But what exactly does one eat? Focaccia, you name it! Here, this famous plump, soft Italian bread is king, and is complemented by fresh, well-sourced ingredients. There are 5 recipes to choose from:

  • Tartufo - black truffle cream, mozza di bufala, herbed ham and arugula
  • Bufala (vegetarian) - pesto verde, mozza di bufala, grana padano, cherry tomatoes and arugula
  • Pollo - pesto rosso, marinated chicken, cherry tomatoes, mozza fior di latte and arugula
  • Crimini - ricotta, honey, speck, mozza di bufala, button mushrooms, grilled onions and arugula
  • Parma - rosemary olive oil, 18-month Parma ham, grilled eggplant, mozza di bufala, arugula

We tried the last two recipes, and were won over by the freshness of the produce, the gourmet pairing and the super-healthy aspect of our lunch!

If you're more of apasta person, L'Atelier Fratelli is offering fresh, homemade pasta for the first time in its history, with classic but tempting recipes (we saw them pass under our noses before reaching our neighbors' tables): truffle pasta, 4-cheese pasta , spinach pasta (vegetarian) and tomato-mozza pasta (vegetarian).

To continue or end your meal au beauté, you can also indulge in fresh salads (burrata and parma ham; mozza di bufala; and burrata and eggplant) or a dessert like chocolate-hazelnut tiramisu .

In short, we'd say yes to a great spot, fair prices and spicy, gourmet focaccia!
