Metà e Metà, the Italian pizzeria and delicatessen in Montreuil

At Metà e Metà, one enjoys original Neapolitan pizzas and fresh and homemade pasta while sipping nice and organic wines from Italy. Before you go, let’s visit the delicatessen, well-stocked in nice and Italian products.

It’s in the busy shopping street of Montreuil that has opened this new Italian tableMetà e Metà. Half-pizzeria, half-delicatessen inspired by Italy, this new spot running by the Corinti siblings and Neapolitan pizzaiolo chef Lello Sorrentino treats us to a short selection of Neapolitan pizzas from the most classic ones to the most original.

Among the pizzas available, for instance, we fall in love with the pizza Gialla giving pride of place to the beautiful Piedmont hazelnut (yellow tomato sauce, mozzarella fior di latte, raw ham, buffalo ricotta flavored with PGI Piedmont hazelnut, chopped PGI Piedmont hazelnuts, basil and olive oil, €16), or the pizza Pistacchio that is based on – as you got it – Bronte pistachio! (Mozzarella fior di latte, buffalo ricotta flavored with pistachio, chopped PDO Bronte pistachios, mortadella Favola, basil and olive oil €18).

It’s also hard to resist to the pizza Zucca (pumpkin cream, smoked mozzarella fior di latte, Tuscan sausage flesh, candied pumpkin and parmesan shavings €14), and the pizza Calabrese (San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella fior di latte, Nduja calabrese, candied onion, basil and olive oil, €15) highlighting tasty ingredients coming straight from Italy.

For a convivial meal, let’s also share – with out family and friends – some antipasti enabling us to discover cold cuts and cheeses coming straight from small Italian producers, cult Italian recipes such as arancini (€15) and of course, the unforgettable and very generous mozzarella di bufala topped with arugula, olive pesto and Parma ham (€18).

Not in the mood for mozzarella? Turn to fresh and homemade pasta available in several recipes mastered by chef Narcisa Diaconu. Are you more into 5-hour stew lasagna (€17) or gnocchi all romana (€14)? What’s sure is that you can pair these nice little dishes with some tasty organic or biodynamic wines coming from Italian vintages from Trentino to Sicily.

To finish on a sweet note, we go for the cannoli, perfect Sicilian dessert (€7), the Piedmont hazelnut tiramisu (€7) or the clementine tart (€7) before visiting the delicatessen corner, well-stocked in good things made in Italy.
