Trying is adopting! Djakarta Bali is the place to be if you want to eat genuine Balinese and Indonesian food. A table at Djakarta Bali usually is ten dishes in tasting sizes to share with your guests, but because of Covid, the restaurant has been serving a My Little Bali special menu for a few months including the house’s best-sellers (to be discovered here).
On the special menu, the famous rendang beef, some beef stewed in coconut milk and jasmine rice, elected world’s best dish by the CNN Travel, and the nasi goreng special, Indonesian fried rice with sate ayam (the chef’s specialty you have to taste at least once in your life).
The chef also makes Indonesian noodles with caramelized chicken, mushrooms and pakchoi, very tasty. These dishes can be paired with red wine, white wine, or Bintang beers to order at the same time as main courses. We had it on the terrace, but the dining room is bright and the owner, Nin, has set a great air purifier!
For sweet-toothed, Djakarta Bali serves Indonesian desserts which are light and flavorful. As for takeout and deliveries, the chef only provides three desserts: Dadar Gulung, pandanus roll with coconut, and kolak, a banana, jackfruit and palm tree fruit dessert with caramelized coconut milk, and chocolate and ginger lava cake. But this is not all, because desserts can be served with whipped coffee and iced milk, iced black team with lemon or coconut water!
