Fouquet’s Paris reopens its restaurant

Fouquet’s Paris reopens on Monday June 15, 2020. The most famous brasserie on the Champs-Elysées, if not Paris, will welcome you on its terrace, and within its legendary room. On the occasion, chefs Pierre Gagnaire and Nicolas Paciello provide a new and summer menu.

Calling all people impatient to reunite with Fouquet's Paris legendary table, the restaurant reopens from Monday June 15, inside and on the terrace.

This is probably the most famous restaurant on the Champs-ElyséesFouquet’s have opened in 1899 at the corner between the venue des Champs-Élysées and the avenue George V in the Golden Triangle in Paris. With its mahogany décor and golden chandeliers, Fouquet’s has grown into the stars’ table in Paris.

And the restaurant makes no secret of it, displaying on the walls black and white pictures of the regulars. Aviators from the beginning century, then movie stars, singers, celebrities come to Fouquet’s and sign their contracts there. It has become so legendary that the room has been listed as historic monument in order to save the restaurant from being bought and lost in 1988. The certificate reads “the Fouquet’s restaurant shows an interest in history in art enough to make its preservation desirable because of the quality of the decoration by Jean Royère, as a token of the great cafés of the avenue des Champs-Elysées that this establishment plays, and its importance in the literary and cinematographic life”.

Since then, the Fouquet’s brasserie has been bought by the Barrière group that has built a hotel in the floors of the building. In 2017, the group signs a contract with chef Pierre Gagnaire (3*) and recruits Nicolas Paciello as pastry chef in 2019. Two top chefs for exquisite cuisine.

On the menu for the grand reopening, a beautiful plate with cantaloupe, Iberic ham, red sorbet, artichoke heart and vinaigrette, Comté cheese shavings, squid stir-fry with mixed herbs, eggplant with black olives, grilled salmon steak, button mushrooms duxelles with sorrel, farm poultry supreme with sate, corn cream, veal fillet flavored with oregano and osso-buco-inspired jus, melba peach and amarena cherry parfait.

Enjoy the restaurant inside, as well as the two terraces – Champs-Elysées and George V side – will be open. The restaurant opens every day from 7:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.
