If you cannot go to Australia, then the land of kangaroos and koalas will come to you! Paris 11th arrondissement welcomes a new spot. Its name? Fitzroy. The unmissable cool and underground neighborhood in Melbourne is coming to Paris with the opening of this place said to be a genuine “Public House”. Hybrid, genuine crossroad of cultures, family house… The Fitzroy expects to blow a fresh wind in Paris.
Its strength? Changing over the day (from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. non-stop), starting with a coffee shop for breakfast. On the menu? Delicious and indulging options such as the vegemite rolls these sweet/savory pastries based on the cult Australian spread, as well as homemade peanut butter toasts or banana bread or scones. As for coffee, the place serves filtered coffee in cold brew in a mug, as well as cow's milk or plant-based milk (almond or oat) latte, the staple cappuccino without forgetting the flat white, an Australian specialty.
For lunch, another atmophere to tickle your taste buds with organic and seasonal produces served with gluten-free bread from Chambelland. Yes, the young cook, Mathieu Longchamps (trained at Anne-Sophie Pic's, the Tour d'Argent, the Château de Mercuès...) has come up with a mouthwatering menu based on quality products where homemade, organic and local are the watchwords. At Fitzroy, one can enjoy suppliers such as Terroir d'Avenie, Café Coutume or hens from Culoiseau...
Time flies by and it is afternoon already. This is the occasion to play boules or Mario Kart on a vintage console (available on the 1st floor) while sipping some beer! As for parents, we have good news: Fitrzoy enjoys a kids' area with everything they need to stay entertained: a caban filled with books, games, coloring books, felt pens, and colored pencils.
Last but not least, the night is all about partying with a stage, live artists and DJ sets… And whoever says Beer Garden also means quality beers. On the menu, several beers by Gallia, the famous brewery set in Pantin, and by Vaucelles, a young French brewery specialized in abbey beer. If you are more into foreign beers, go for the IPA by Lagunitas. And if you like cocktails, Fitzroy serves a few staple cocktails based on rum, gin or even vodka.
To pair these drinks, enjoy homemade dishes to share such as the delicious cod fritters with citrus fruit sauce, or the excellent mini sliders trio (French Charolais beef, cheddar and bacon), without forgetting the famous little pizzas, the house's specialty. We fell for the addictive "Truffle Shuffle" (shaved truffle, stracciatella and parmesan), and for the "More Cheese" (mozarella fior di latte, gorgonzola, scamorza, goat's cheese, paremsan, stracciatella).
And for sweet-toothed patrons, we could not recommend enough the "Big Little Desserts" featuring cheesecake, strawberry pie and chocolate mousse.
Last but not least, wrap up your night with a live show performed by promising artists, a set in partnership with Radio Nova DJs, or vinyle or disco nights to travel back in time! What a program! And you can enjoy it at the Fitzroy in Paris 11th arrondissement.
