Discover true Japanese gastronomy at Sushi Shunei, Montmartre's (very) traditional Japanese restaurant. Here, the sushi master prepares minute nigiri right before your eyes!

Have you ever had the chance to taste real sushi, prepared by a real sushi master in a sushiya worthy of Japan's finest sushi restaurants? If you've ever wanted to take the plunge and discover true Japanese gastronomy, then head for the 18th arrondissement!

On the heights of Montmartre, the Sushi Shunei restaurant has just opened its doors under the impetus of César Mourot and Paul Dupuy. After a hundred or so trips to Japan over the last ten years, the two friends have come to the conclusion that it's impossible to find sushiya in Paris that gives them the same emotions as those they experienced in Tokyo or other cities in the archipelago. Indeed, Parisian sushi is often made with rice that's too sweet, and fish that's sometimes too thick.

And so Sushi Shunei was born. In a minimalist, uncluttered setting, seated opposite the sushi master or at a table with friends - a notable difference from real Japanese sushiya - Sushi Shunei invites you on a journey with chef Shunei Kimura, who has been in Paris for 40 years. The menu features nigiri-sushi prepared by the chef according to the catch and season, with brill, sea bream, gambas, mackerel and eel .

Accompanied by tea, organic wine or a glass of sake, for the full experience!
