We can say it, Paris is the magic city where you can taste the gastronomy of the whole world, including specialities that you would not expect to find in the City of Light. Notice to street-food lovers , this time we take you to Road Trip, the new address that will make your taste buds travel!
The address is located at 36 rue Poissonnière, a stone's throw from the Grand Rex. Its frontage of a radiant yellow attracts the curious glances. On the front, we are promised gourmet hot dogs with organic artisanal bread, halal poultry and turkey sausages, and mostly home-made condiments and sauces. That's all it takes to lure us in.
So here you are in a family address imagined by four sisters passionate about travel and driven by the desire to make Parisians discover flavors from elsewhere through street food. This road trip is lived through imaginative recipes that give us a taste for discovery!
A first stop in the United States allows us to taste the US Dog, made of relish, mustard, ketchup and fried onions. It is one of the greatest successes of Road Trip and we understand why: the flavors and textures are perfectly balanced to make us taste a real American hot dog, gourmet version!
Then we venture further south for the Mexican Dog. We love the homemade guacamole acidulous enough to awaken the taste buds, the crunchy corn and the cheddar cheese au gratin. Then back to Europe to taste this time theItalian Dog which will be our favorite! The homemade green pesto loaded with basil literally enchants us and goes well with the mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes.
Finally, our journey ends with the French Dog, another best-seller, which delights us with its homemade candied onions and its melting brie whose taste is strong enough not to outweigh the other flavors. On the side you can have a Mac and Cheese, Nachos or a salad of the moment depending on your inspiration!
If before pushing the doors of Road Trip you had a curious look through the window, you will probably have seen some unusual waffles in the shape of fish. This is the second specialty of the spot: taiyaki. So, what is it exactly?
The taiyaki are Japanese waffles in the shape of fish. A sea bream, to be precise, since it is a lucky dish in Japan. But here the Road Trip dream team has revisited the recipe of these sweets: here, they are halfway between the pancake and the madeleine. They can be filled with chocolate, salted butter caramel, maple syrup, or even speculos. What we also love is that the format has been revised to make taiyaki even easier to eat: instead of a large waffle, we will enjoy a portion of five small fish. You can then indulge yourself with an assortment of several flavors!
