Barely present in Paris restaurants, compared to other street food goods such as smash burger, kabob, or grilled cheese, hot dog is yet a quick and affordable option for a snack or those eating on the go.
In Pigalle, Jack's Hot Dogs just opened rue Pierre Fontaine, an artery housing many new street-food brands, such as vegan Jimmy’s Street Food restaurant and Mesita Argentinean counter.
At Jack’s, hot dog is king, based on quality ingredients: buns are handmade and slightly toasted, cheddar is perfectly cured, the onion compote is homemade, the poultry hot dogs are kosher, and a vegetarian recipe is also available to please as many people as possible.
Speaking of which, Jack’s Hot Dogs has 8 hot dog recipes changing and evolving around seasons, including the classic with mustard, fried onions and ketchup for €4.50 only, the guacamole version (€6) with cheddar and jalapenos to spice things up, the hot dog berliner (€6) reminding us of the traditional German curry Würst with curry sauce and hearty slices of bittersweet pickles, and the alternative truffle (€6.50) based on smoked turkey seasoned with truffled mayonnaise.
Affordable (allow between €4.50 and €7 the hot dog without side such as corn on the cob or cheddar nachos), Jack’s hot dogs are likely to delight night-owls and families in the neighborhood.
