Calling all crepe lovers! Head to Buckwheat, a restaurant set within Hôtel Normandy Le Chantier, serving a delicious menu inspired by the western French coast! Wheat or buckwheat pancakes… make your choice!

Craving crepes? Head to Buckwheat, the newest venue of Normandy Hôtel Le Chantier serving a list of mouthwatering crepes inspired by the western coast! A new and temporary food concept – whilst waiting for the inauguration of Machefert Group’s newest 5-star hotel – shining a light on one of the pillars of the French gastronomy reworked with delicious recipes for foodies. A tribute to the past of the Normandy too with flavors coming from the eponymous region.

As for the menu, savory buckwheat pancakes (hence the name!) made with thoroughly selected products sourced from 100% French producers committed to developing local and sustainable farming. At Buckwheat, no crazy or extravagant recipes: crepes are served very simply and they are all easily recognizable, a bit like a Proust madeleine. Organic flour from Cotentin and Bessin, butter from Isigny, free-range eggs (for the wheat pancakes)… Only the best of the best!

A menu the editorial board put to the test. As for the buckwheat pancakes, we got the “Prince de Paris” with old-fashioned Paris ham, and the “Volaille” based on free-range poultry, white onions with blond beer, old-fashioned mustard cream with mustard sprouts. Two beautiful and hearty pancakes, very flavorsome but not too heavy, as we need room for dessert!

As for dessert, some vanilla ice cream and wheat pancake Tatin style with caramelized apples. So good! To pair them all, two bowls of brut cider served in teacups…. An original fashion to enjoy your cider, but perfect to pair crepes. Note that on sunny days, the place has a small and lush terrace with view on the Louvre. And you can even enjoy the takeaway service. In other words, a great place to discover if you are in the neighborhood!
