For fine bistronomic cuisine in the purest French tradition, head for Le Petit Rétro, a restaurant in the 16th arrondissement whose new menu has been devised by Chiberta chef Irwin Durand, under the guidance of chef Guy Savoy. We've tried it, we'll tell you about it!

True bistro cuisine in the heart of the 16th arrondissement... Welcome to Le Petit Rétro, founded in 1904 and offering a fine bistro menu since September 3, 2022, designed by Irwin Durand, chef of Le Chiberta. The menu was devised under the guidance of Guy Savoy, and its key words are "authenticity", "gourmandise" and "taste".

This vintage bistro, listed for its earthenware and woodwork, is a must-see for lovers of Art Nouveau architecture. The facade and interior have been freshened up, but the charm of the house remains intact. A total of three rooms await food lovers, for a restaurant that seats 70.

The menu is in the purest Parisian bistro tradition, reflecting the chef's love of local cuisine. Stuffed tomatoes, marrow bone tartine, pâté en croute, casseroles, clafoutis, profiteroles... The best of bistronomy on your plate! And on the wine side, a fine selection from our beautiful regions, to suit all budgets.

An autumn menu that the editorial team was able to try out. And we were particularly surprised by the finesse of the dishes, despite their simple, even classic, form. For starters, we were tempted by theoeuf cocotte, pumpkin, chestnuts, pork belly and bouquet of fresh herbs, as well as the pâté en croûte. Two simple but extremely tasty dishes, ideal for a good start to the meal.

As for the main courses, we opted for the flaky vegetable pie with herb salad, and the old-fashioned veal blanquette with rice pilaf. Two dishes with very fine flavors, very surprising, and absolutely divine. A special mention for the particularly tasty rice pilaf. And for dessert, the Paris-Brest, as well as thefloating island, pink pralines and salted butter caramel, not too sweet, the ideal way to end the meal.
