News alert! OKKO hotels has opened Noccio, its very first (entirely independent) restaurant in the town of Nanterre (92), a stone's throw from the Paris la Défense Aréna. Nestled on the first floor of the group's latest establishment, since June 2022 it has become the new HQ for office workers, concert-goers and local residents with a taste for fine cuisine.
A welcome nugget in the business district, the Italian restaurant can seat 110 diners in its retro-chic space, designed by Studio MURMÛR. Between the bubble gum pink ceiling and the sharp design of the seating and tableware, Noccio 's urban, contemporary atmosphere transports us to a Milanese café for a lunch break or afterwork.
Chef Gabriele Balestro Galizia, formerly of Gruppo Dalmata, is busy in the kitchen! His signature dish: vitello tonato, a recipe typical of the Piedmont region, subtly blending veal carpaccio and tuna. A fresh and surprising dish, and certainly our favorite at Noccio! We also opted for the generous "Mozzarella di bufala with green olives and basil", another iconic Italian antipasti.
As for the main course, it was hard to choose! Between the "Parmigiana", the "Tortelloni with truffles" or the "Grilled octopus", our heart sways ... The "Orecchiette al pomodoro" and the "Grilled sea bream" with fennel flambéed with sambuca were our favorites. From the very first bite of our colorful, festive plates, we rediscovered the warm, comforting flavors of Italian gastronomy. A one-way ticket to La Dolce Vita!
The desserts are just as mouth-watering! Of course, we went for the fabulous giant "Tiramisù Noccio"! To share, or not... A generous, unctuous portion of pure happiness, because there's no such thing as guilty pleasures in Italy! The "Profiteroles", revisited with hazelnut ice cream, conquered our taste buds with their sweetness and lightness.
Yes, because Noccio comes from "Nocciola", which means hazelnut, a key ingredient found in many of the dishes on the menu.
