If you ask a Parisian what Le Perchoir is the answer might be: "A 400 square meter trendy rooftop featuring a 360° breathtaking view of Paris' roofs and monuments."
This bar and restaurant open since June 2013 is set on the 7th floor of a building located at 14 rue Crespin du Gast in the 11th arrondissement. As soon as it opened and thanks to swift word of mouth and social networks the place has been successful...
At your arrival you will find no sign but do not worry, you are at the right place. Brave patrons will climb up the spiral stairs whereas others will take the elevator on your right.
The place displays a rather simple decoration (salvaged tables and chairs, counter made of wooden boxes and set up under a tent-shaped canvas). Le Perchoir can welcome up to 110 patrons which is more than enough for those peacefully sipping a cocktail on the roof but not enough for those waiting to reach the 7th heaven...
But apart from the trendy decoration with salvaged furniture, plants growing everywhere and the beach-inspired bar, the place major asset is its awe-inspiring view of Paris.
Besides the bar Le Perchoir also features an indoor restaurant on the 6th floor. You can have a seat and enjoy tasty dishes cooked by the chef Benoît Dumas. The menu costs between €42 and €48. It is not necessarily cheap but the quality is definitely worth it.
Remember that the bar also offers snacks such as the famous New York-style lobster sandwich or mini burgers.
A New York spirit truly floats above the French capital...
