Get ready to travel since this fondue is to be enjoyed on an island in the middle of the Bois de Boulogne… Yes, this restaurant is set on an island and you have to use a small boat to join Chalet des Iles. At our arrival, we find a little Swiss cabin that has been taken to Paris in parts to please Empress Eugénie in the mid-19th century, the perfect spot for a raclette or a fondue party!
Chalet des Iles get it and every year, the restaurant provides us with a fondue party all winter long! The mountain-inspired dinner is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We highly recommend you book to make the fondue even smoother!
On the menu: lots of good things, beaufort and other cheeses along with two breads (traditional and campagne bread), potatoes and cold cuts. You can also enjoy some good wine, especially since Chalet des Iles owns a beautiful cellar.
Everything tastes good, the cheese is melted and there are many cold cuts. Quantities served are well proportioned according to the number of guests seated at your table, but you can definitely ask for more potatoes (just in case). We forget about time and children play stealing each other’s bread!
At the end of this feast, a homemade blueberry tart or Tatin tart expect us, but we really couldn’t eat more… Remain some digestives to wash all this cheese down. What’s good with Chalet des Iles is the digestive stroll we can enjoy after dinner, on the island or in the wood, before heading back home.
It’s a go-to for this fondue spot to enjoy with your family or friends.
