At East Mamma, we do not simply eat pizzas or pastas, we immerse yourselves in the Italian culture and we enjoy this moment in Italy. What a success for Tigrane Seydoux and Victor Lugger, two former HEC students who won the Idoine d'Unibail contest and €750.000 to complete their project successfully.
Their concept, Big Mamma, puts the best Italian producers and their products in the spotlight thanks to unique dishes, offered in various places throughout Paris. Even though East Mamma is their first restaurant, the two fellows are about to open a new one in one of the Unibail-Rodamco shopping malls. On the menu? Cheeses and meats from the country, beautifully presented on boards to share or in dishes to fall for.
We fell in love with the offer of Italian products - to savor on your own or with friends - promising to taste fresh DOP Mozzarella di bufala, delivered within two days from Naples, individually for €7 or in a braided version for €21 (500g to share with three other people), creamy burrata to share with someone else for €11 and stracciatella (burrata's cream you can eat by the spoonful) and even ricotta di buffala with honey for €7! Meat lovers are not left out thanks to a 24-month cured DOP Parma ham, mortadella, bresaola and "del Fondatore" ham, considered as the noblest Italian ham. For your greatest pleasure, to please curious eaters and food lovers, East Mamma offers you the 2 products (to choose between hams and chesses) for €13.
Already impressed by this offer, we became speechless before the pizzas, cooked in front of us by Italian pizza makers (some of them do not even understand French!), making us smile with their love of life. Pizzas and pastas offered by East Mamma highlight delicious Italian products in generous portions and at reasonable prices (about €13 for a dish). The two fellows who developed the concept explain: "Everything in the pizza comes from Naples: the pizza maker, the oven, the flour, the tomato, the mozza di bufala [...] at the price we apply in the trattorias deep in Italy."
As for desserts, we can taste the house tiramisu, panna cotta, rice pudding and a pizza over which you can spread Nutella© for €8...
As for us, we would gladly have some more Italian sun!
