The legendary pool Molitor has been welcoming guests again since 2014 in a brand new site which has preserved its charm of yesteryear: a 5-star hotel very famous in Paris. Here lay the famous pools which made the reputation of the place.
Thanks to the SOS Molitor organisation the pool is listed as a historical monument. It has been conceived by the architect Lucien Pollet and its major advantage was in the combining of a 33-meter long sheltered pool surrounded by traditional cabins on two galeries and a 50-meter long open air pool surrounded by blue cabins on three levels and white railings.
In 1929 Olympic swimmers Aileen Riggin Soule and Johnny Weissmuller inaugurated pool Molitor. Set in the core of the 16th arrondissement, the pool enjoys the perfect location near the Bois de Boulogne, the Parc des Princes, Roland Garros and the Jean Bouin stadium. The winter and summer pools are a true invitation to swim.
Nevertheless the access to the pools is still restricted to room guests and select club members no need to say that many Parisians or tourists cannot afford it. Indeed you need to pay €3,300 for an annual subscription and €1,200 for a club membership to enjoy the wonderful pools. And because the offer was reserved for the first 1,000 subscribers, the pools are quite peaceful.
The owner of the memorable Accord hotel collection, MGALLERY, also manages the hotel offering sophisticated rooms with a delightful view over the pools: 104 rooms and 20 suites await couples or business clients who can enjoy meeting rooms in the basement!
Do not be too disappointed because you can still access Molitor Spa by Clarins and enjoy a full cocooning session, chill in the rest rooms or get a massage with your partner in the massage rooms. You can also get a haircut at the hair salon and enjoy the best face and body care no matter if you are a man or a woman. Clarins beauticians are here to provide you with the best beauty tips too.
From €18 to €55 you can enjoy the gourmet restaurant offering a menu based around an intergenerational outlook on French cuisine. Dishes are mouthwatering and Meilleurs Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsmen of France) occasionally offer tasting menus!
The rooftop open to all features a restaurant set in an aromatic garden. Wandering around the rooftop is so pleasant you could forget the belt highway...
Architects Alain Derbesse, Alain-Charles Perrot and Jacques Rougerie have been tasked with the project. They decided to bring the 1930s spirit back into fashion whilst blending contemporary touches including street art murals!
Like a phoenix, Molitor rose from its ashes with three watchwords: POOL, ART, LIFE. You can enjoy life and its pleasures in one of the most awe-inspiring Parisian pearls in a setting reminding about Deauville, the queen of Normandy, and its famous beach closets. All that is needed is the beach to complete the picture!
