Urban Films Festival 2017 at Paris Forum des Halles

On October 6 to 8, 2017 Urban Films Festival is coming to Paris Forum des Halles. This 12th edition will provide short-movies screenings, animations and conferences with a common denominator: the street.

This year’s Urban Films Festival jury (chaired by comedian Jamel Debbouze) received over 500 short-movies, directed by movie fans from all over the world. Their only common denominator is that they all take place in the street, with klaxons in the background. The jury selected about ten movies belonging to very different genres (documentary, fiction, animation, performance) and presents them to the public for four 80-minute long screenings.

The festival takes place at the Canopée des Halles, and here is the program:

Saturday

  • Kino Studio: following the Kino sessions line: short-movies directing marathon, Patio -1
  • Video Clip Workshop: directing video clips at the animation center at the Halles Le Marais
  • Conference about the Halles as hip-hop’s birthplace: screenings of archives about the Halles with a special guest, BBoy Benji at the Canopée library

Sunday

  • Action Movie Workshop: introduction to movie stunts with Onde2Choc at Centr’Halles Park
  • Flash Talk: TV show about the Urban Films Festival with the jury at the Place Carrée
  • 360° animations: live out a total immersion with virtual reality headsets at the Forum des Images.
