"That blue dream! You're bound to know this song, and it's sure to keep you dreaming, since Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won a double award in 1993 for his contribution to the animated film, is back to write the music for this remake.

Aladdin review

Why should we see this new Aladdin, and what makes it different from the 1992 original?

When we think of Aladdin, we think first and foremost of the music and the mythical song: "This Blue Dream"! Thenew project features composer Alan Menken, who won Oscars for Best Song and Best Film Score for his work on the cartoon!

As with the Broadway musical, the composer had to completely revise his work to adapt it to director Guy Ritchie's vision! Here, we see a much more hip-hop influence of genius brought to life by Will Smith's personality, as well as a strong Bollywood feel, with masterful singing and dancing scenes filmed in a single sequence shot!

There's also a new song for Princess Jasmine: "Speechless". This heartfelt cry appears in a visually stunning scene that continues the Disney trend seen in recent years of promoting strong, independent Princesses who believe in their dreams and fight to make them come true! Here, Jasmine finally dares to open her mouth and say out loud what's deep inside her. In short, Speechless is a song that's sure to be talked about!

All in all, Guy Ritchie offers us a fine action-adventure film, but also a lovely love story full of humor and romance. It's all produced with technical perfectionism and carried off by actors as charismatic as they are engaging. The scenes are wonderfully colorful, lively and catchy, with the essence of the original cartoon brought up to date.

A Proust's madeleine for all adults who discovered the animated film in their youth, and who will once again be able to share the magic and fairytale world of Aladdin with their children.
