An original and unique vision of the Joker… This is what American filmmaker Todd Philipps offers with a movie centering around Batman’s crazy antagonist and said to be released in France on October 9, 2019. Simply called Joker, this movie is about the past of the super villain with an evil laugh, portrayed here by Joaquin Phoenix (Her, The Sisters Brothers).

A Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics movie also starring Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Robert de Niro (Dirty Grandpa, The Irishman) and even Frances Conroy (American Horror Story, Castle Rock). A movie that isn’t said to be part of the DC Universe, Warner Bros. Pictures wishing to provide different and new visions of the movie in order to increase the low DC movies audience figures.

Plot:

In the 1980’s, in Gotham City, Arthur Fleck is a failed stand-up comedian. He works several jobs as clown and tries to respect the calling his mother delivered him, naming “bringing laugh and joy to the world’… A calling he will leave behind to turn to crime and become the Joker. A surprising origin story about Batman’s main antagonist.

Review:

Todd Philips signs a striking movie starring an incredible Joaquin Phoenix, inhabited by his character as crazy as disturbing.... Joker is like a true cinematographic slap with varied inspirations - especially Martin Scorcese: the movie taking over some of his codes and openly refering to the director.

A very captivating movie taking viewers into an immersive and disturbing journey to the heart of madness featuring here and there some rather violent moments. A descent into hell with a social satire in the background unlikely to leave you untouched. To see urgently!
