Rey, Finn, Poe, Leia and all the Star Wars heroes are finally back! Two years after the release of Star Wars: the Last Jedi, George Lucas’s ninth Star Wars movie, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is finally coming, teasing us with a first look and a released date planned for December 18, 2019 - December 19 in the UK and December 20 for the US, and in VOD purchase on April 16th and on rent on April 24th, 2020 in France.. Note that a poster has been unveiled during the D23 this past August!

As for the cast, we find the same actors from the previous movies such as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Anthony Daniels, Kelly Marie Tran, Domhall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Billie Lourd or even Carrie Fisher whose scenes have been shot before she passed away and used to keep Princess Leia alive.

But moving on to newcomers we have Billy Dee Williams who reprises his role as Lando Calrissian, Ian McDiarmid who reprises his role as the Emperor Palpatine as well as Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca (replacing Peter Mayhew before he died), Keri Russel (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Free State of Jones...), Richard E. Grant (Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Can You Ever Forgive Me?...) and even Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings, Lost...) in a role that is still secret.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker puts an end to the new trilogy about Rey and Finn’s adventures along with the Resistance and the First Order, but most of all about the return of the Jedi in a galaxay far away, far far away. Started in 1977, “Skywalker” kept on being successful especially with fans who always come back to theaters again and again when a new opus is out. And to perfect this third trilogy, let’s discover the first trailer!

Plot:

Since there’s no official resume yet, here’s what we can say based on the trailer: Rey seems to want to face Kylo Ren’s ship in the desert. Rey, Finn, Poe and the Resistance still try to escape from the First Order and travel from planets to planets. Lando Calrissian finds the Millenium Falcon again and an evil laughter can be hear, the picture fade. Intriguing, isn’t it?

Review:

The last Star Wars movie offers us 2h30 of show supported by an always epic and rousing soundtrack.

The ultimate episode lifts the veil on the many mysteries of this last trilogy and bring some unexpected answers to the many theories we've been able to read on the Internet.

The movie shows a very beautiful tribute to Carrie Fisher who plays a major part even though she passed away long before the movie started to shoot. We also find many cameos likely to make fans smile.

In other words, the Rise of Skywalker offers a visually spectacular finale full of twists and very moving scenes without forgetting a lot of suspens to close this story started 42 years ago by George Lucas.
