After “Velvet Goldmine”, “I’m not There”, the “Mildred Pierce” series and even “Carol”, American director Todd Haynes presents his new movie. Called “Dark Waters”, this movie returns on the true story of Robert Bilott who denounced in 2016 the toxic methods of chemical company DuPont.

For this biopic, Todd Haynes got himself a 5-star cast starting with Mark Ruffalo (Shutter Island, Avengers, Thor: Ragnarok) as lawyer Robert Bilott. By his sides, we have Anne Hathaway (Ocean’s 8, Les Misérables…), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption, High Fidelity, Mystic River, Catch a Fire…) and even Bill Pullman (Surveillance, Lost Highway, Equalizer 2…)

Plot:

Robert Bilott is an environmental lawyer. Called out by a farmer and his grandmother’s neighbor, he’ll discovery his childhood’s idyllic country is poisoned by a factory from the powerful chemical group DuPont, first employer in the region. To expose the truth about the mortal pollution because of the toxic waste of the factory, he’ll risk his career, family and even his own life…
