Christine Cinéma Club and Ecoles Cinéma Club, two independent movie theaters set in the Latin Quarter are the perfect place to enjoy classic American movies as their programming is focusing on these cinematographic works.

Watching or rewatching classics, but not any kind! At Christine Cinéma Club – movie theater from the 1970’s – these classics mostly focus on American movies, especially westerns. Gone with the Wind, Some Like It Hot, or even Shadow of a Doubt are back in the movies for American movie fans’ greatest joy. But if you are still not part of them yet, this will be the occasion to discover these famous feature films.

At your disposal, two movie theaters set 15 minutes by foot from each other: Christine Cinéma Club and Ecoles Cinéma Club. Each one of them enjoys two movie rooms to welcome you for screenings in original version only. Movies are usually played in 2K, but some are lucky enough to be in 4K. And the same way as the Filmothèque in the Latin Quarter, Christine Cinéma Club still screens movies using 35mm film reels. It continues the tradition of projections before the digital era. And this room is special as a part of the theater has been listed as historic monument: the door dates back from the 17th century!

Initially focusing on American movies, Christine Cinéma Club has diversified in 5 years, opening to more recent movies and other original classics (Italian, French, Turk…). In addition to this, Christine Cinéma Club hosts movie festivals every year and movies come from all over the world: Peru, Bulgaria, Colombia and so on. More about festivals here!

In this historic neighborhood, you can visit La Conciergerie – former Île de la Cité jail were Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned – the national museum of La Monnaie de Paris, or the famous Fontaine Saint-Michel. All this in the heart of the Latin Quarter, a genuine temple of independent art-house cinema. Furthermore, a few streets from there stands Saint André des Arts, another indie movie institution. Where will you go, then?
