Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet and even Mia Wasikowska are starring in “Blackbird” a new Roger Michell movie. While waiting for its release planned on September 23, 2020 in France, here is the trailer.

After “Notting Hill”, “Morning Glory”, and even “Le Week-End”, South-African director Roger Michell is back on the silver screen with “Blackbird”, a drama movie scheduled to be out on September 23, 2020 in France.

Moving on to the cast, Roger Michell put on a great spread with the talented Susan Sarandon (The Client, Thelma and Louise, The Death & Life of John F. Donovan, The Jesus Rolls…). By her side, Kate Winslet (Titanic, The Life of David Gale, The Reader…), Mia Wasikowska (Jane Eyre, Crimson Peak, Alice Through the Looking Glass…) and even Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Hunter, The Commuter…).

Plot:

Lily and her husband Paul decide to bring together their children and grand-children for a weekend in their country house. Three generations of the same family are gathered including Jennifer – the oldest – with her husband Michael and their 15-year-old son, Jonathan; as well as Anna – the youngest – with Chris, her companion. As a matter of fact, this family reunion has a special goal: suffering from an incurable degenerative illness, Lily refuses to end her life in a demeaning way, and decides to take her destiny in hand. But not everybody agrees on her decision. Unsaid things and secrets come back up the surface and challenge the family, recreating the bonds uniting the members as time for farewell is upon them…
