In 2021, Robin Wright debuts as a movie director. Her first movie, drama “Land”, in which she also has the lead part, opens from June 16, 2021.

After going behind the camera for the “House of Cards” series, Robin Wright keeps on experimenting for cinema. Wright releases her first movie, “Land”, as the director, on June 16, 2021 in France.

For her directing debut, Wright did not make her job easier since in addition to directing “Land”, she plays the lead role. In this drama movie, she plays opposite Demian Bichir (“The Midnight Sky”, “Godzilla vs King”, “Chaos Walking”), Kim Dickens (“Fear the Walking Dead”, “House of Cards”…), and Brad Leland (“Deepwater”, “The Bureau”…).

For the record, Wright played State Secretary then President Claire Underwood in “House of Cards”. The actress also played in “Forrest Gump”, “Unbreakable”, as well as “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. She is also General Antiope in the DC universe.

Plot:

After a mysterious event, Edee (Wright) finds herself unable to stay tuned to the world she used to know and faced with uncertainties, she retires in the magnificent but brutal and wild world of the Rocky Mountains. It is after a local hunter saves her life at death’s door, she has to find a way to live again.
