A transhumance in Paris for the International Agricultural Show

The day before the opening of the International Agricultural Show, on Friday February 23, you can attend a unique parade! Mountain animals transhume in full heart of Paris, in avenue de Breteuil.

Caution, mountain cows are coming to Paris! The day before the International Agricultural Show, on Friday February 23, bovines take over avenue de Breteuil (7th arrondissement) for the afternoon!

Bovine and ovine mountain breeds will complete a special transhumance… More used to nature, these animals will see the Parisian tarmac for the first time by parading before your wide-open eyes. Organized in partnership with the Interprofession Elevage et Viande [Breeding and Meat Association] and the Coram [Massif Local Breeds Group], this event will be the occasion to discover unique breeds, we can only find in mountain regions. French mountains are the original birthplace of most bovines and ovines no matter if they are dairy or nursing.

Here’s the program for the afternoon:

  • 2:30 p.m.: departing form Place de Breteuil and going up Avenue de Breteuil side path towards Dôme des Invalides
  • 3 p.m.: exhibition displayed in Place Vauban in front of Dôme des Invalides
  • 3:30 p.m.: arriving back to Place Vauban and descent of the Avenue de Breteuil side path towards Place Breteuil
  • 4 p.m.: end of the parade

Here’s an atypical parade likely to please children and adults!
