Contemporary art lovers, head to the Salon d'Automne from January 18 to 21, 2024 at the Grande Halle de la Villette, for an extraordinary event combining a major exhibition, conferences, fashion shows and artistic performances featuring music and dance! The show, which has existed since 1903, has given rise to artistic movements and major figures in contemporary art, such as Matisse and Guimard. This year, some 1,200 astonishing works will be brought together in a 6,000m2 exhibition!
The program features art in all its diversity and originality, with poetry readings, concerts, salsa, performances and fashion shows, to discover even more incredible artists. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Salon d'Automne has sought to offer a new perspective on the way art is created, according to the different eras, and in opposition to traditional art. It has thus been a privileged witness to the avant-garde movements of Fauvism, Surrealism and Cubism.
Rooted in this prestigious past, the show continues today to bring together artists from all over the world, of forty different nationalities, as well as some 30,000 curious visitors. No hierarchy is established between the different arts, allowing them to exhibit with equal freedom, in 20 artistic sections (architecture, digital art, engraving, photography, sculpture, etc.). For this 120th anniversary, the artists are expecting you in large numbers, but for the first time, the show will take place in winter, not autumn!
