Present every year in Paris, the Salon du Dessin [Drawing Fair] is a unique event, known worldwide, that has now become a reference in the world of collector drawing. This year, the Salon du Dessin expects you from Wednesday March 24 to Monday 29, 2021 at Paris Palais Brongniart.
The edition 2020 of the show begins a new 2-year cycle devoted to garden arts and botanic. This year, 39 exhibitors including four new galleries unveil many drawings of flowers and plants. Marseilles museums are the special guests of this event: they are in charge of the museum exhibition and bring prestigious and rare works from the 18th century from their catalago (without forgetting the Provençal sun to light up this week).
Highlights will pace this show: it's the occasion to award the 13th prize for contemporary drawings of the Fondation d'art contemporain Daniel et Florence Guerlain. You also don't want to miss the international meetings of the show during which experts talk about the relationships and methods between drawing and gardens.
On the occasion of this show, about twenty museums and institutions offer themed-tours and exclusive visits focusing on drawing. The Petit Palais, for instance, presents "In the Drawing Room", an exhibition displayed from March 17 to July 12, 2020.
If amateurs are more than welcome to admire this exhibition, the show also targets professionals and collectors. Many pieces are available on sale, searchers and museum's curators also come to discover or spot priceless and famous collector's pieces.
Book your weekn and discover the Drawing Show from March 25 to 30, 2020. Don't hesitate to have a look at the Palais Brongniart, the former Palais de la Bourse and impressive building dating back to the 19th century. Perhaps will you be able to draw it?
