Day by Day, the loose delicatessen in Paris Batignolles neighborhood

Day by Day is the new delicatessen in the Batignolles neighborhood that will change from supermarkets! A few meters from the Brochant metro station, Day by Day offers loose daily goods, without packaging for a more committed consumption. Let’s discover the spot right now!

Haaaa, the Batignolles area! With its markets, its tasty butcher’s shops, its many greengrocer’ shops, without forgetting cheese shops and bakeries, Batignolles is a historical area in Paris that loves local store, it’s hard to break the chain and buy pasta and household products in supermarkets!

Drawing on this, Damien Di Cicco decided to open a Day by Day franchise in order to bring an intermediate solution to supermarkets and their standardized products. In a premise set rue des moines, Damien Di Cicco made his childhood dream come true by opening this loose delicatessen offering 750 unpacked goods. This opening is the 11th for Day by Day and the first in Paris!

Day by Day, l'épicerie en vrac à Batignolles

Inside the small store, we learn more about the concept: here, you pay all products by their weight. If we are used to do so with candies in candy stores or marinated olives at the markets, here, the concept goes with 750 products, pasta, spices, tea and even wine and olive oil!

Yes, at Day by Day, you can buy a dozen wine by the weight, and you have to pay for a glass bottle or bring your own empty and cleaned bottle (that will be weighed). So, we choose the quantity we want to buy, we only buy what we will consume and we avoid the multiple packages (from the store to the consumer as well as from the producer to Day by Day) and we created a relationship of trust with a grocer who knows the products he sells (at Day by Day, not two brands of pasta or detergent, but only good products!).

When we point out that some organic farming stores use loose products, the manager explains that Day by Day doesn’t extol French organic farming, only 25% of the stock is organic and 50% of products are French, reminding us that “the right cashew nut comes from Burkina-Faso!”. And in terms of budget, Day by Day extols “the right product, the right price (that feeds everyone), and the right impact for the environment”!

So, how about giving it a go?
