La Samaritaine's Christmas 2023 window displays and decorations: delicacies and fairytale fun à la Willy Wonka!

From November 8, 2023 (from 6pm) to January 9, 2024, La Samaritaine will be in the holiday spirit. For its new Christmas story, the department store is transformed into a Palais des délices, where gourmet delights and the French art of living reign supreme. Right from the window displays, the feast promises to be gargantuan, an exquisite blend of fashion and decoration, presented amid giant fir trees, shimmering decorations and grandiose chandeliers. The enchantment extends to the heart of the showcase, where the Atrium invites you into the magical world of Charlie et la Chocolaterie, and the aisles unveil the quirky, gourmet works of artists Gab Bois and Thomas Liu Le Lann.

Gling gling gling! Can you hear the jingle of the festive season just around the corner? Christmas is just around the corner, and it's time to head for the capital, with a program that's even more magical every year, to delight young and old alike! From the magical illuminations to the window displays of the Grands Magasins, Paris is all wonder and enchantment. The scenography of these emblematic stores appeals to the imagination and emotions of the whole family, making this unique and precious annual event a tradition!

This year, La Samaritaine will delight both your taste buds and your eyes! From November 8, 2023 to January 9, 2024, the smallest of the Grands Magasins will be transformed into a temple of gourmet delights, where you can indulge your sweet tooth! Tasty colors, generous shapes, shiny or soft materials, XXL and XXS accessories, a veritable feast of French fashion and art de vivre is being prepared within the walls of the legendary shopping address. On the menu, ultra-creative and colorful guests, and a tempting collaboration with Warner Bros for the release of the film Wonka.

Let's begin this magical tasting by discovering the Christmas window displays. On the Rivoli side, giant fir trees take pride of place alongside shimmering decorations, while silver platters offer a mouth-watering selection! With a background of tangerine, midnight blue or pomegranate coulis, these amuse-bouches are followed by glittering fir tree pieces for even more visual indulgence. And, because it's party time, the faceted baubles are out and the mannequins are ready to dance!

On Rue de la Monnaie, La Samaritaine puts the finishing touches to a table adorned with silverware, candlesticks and other treasures. The windows, perfect illustrations of the French art of entertaining, are sublimated by majestic chandeliers by Mathieu Lustrerie, inviting visitors to journey through more than 600 years of history and shining with a thousand lights all the way to the store's interior.

There, in the heart of the Scène Pont-NeufChristmas market , a banquet of all kinds of delights awaits you for the continuation of the luxurious feast!

This season, the spotlight is on Canadian photographer Gab Bois. The artist, famous for her hijacking of everyday objects into euphoric works of fashion and decoration, is unveiling a photo exhibition of her craziest creations at La Samaritaine, as well as a giant chandelier overflowing with sweets!

For the occasion, Gab Bois is also organizing a mini treasure hunt, to discover the 6 gifts hidden around the store(clues on his instagram account).

A few aisles further on, the world of Charlie et la Chocolaterie enters the scene. From November 8, 2023 to January 3, 2024, the traditional Christmas tree is transformed into a marvellous chocolate tree, at the same time as Willy Wonka sets up shop in his magical, gourmet pop-up in the Atrium. Irresistible!

And, for even sweeter pleasures, giant lollipops by multi-disciplinary artist Thomas Liu Le Lann take over the department store, composing a tangy installation that captures greed and desire in regressively sweet hues.

As in previous years, a giant Advent calendar adorns the balustrades on the various floors of La Samaritaine, making every day of December a happy one. Subject to purchase (with no minimum amount), the winner wins an exceptional gift: a holiday, fashion, jewelry, beauty, delicacies...
