How about travelling back to time to the Middle-Age? This is what Provins and the association “Les Gardes Foires de Champagne” offer as Christmas entertainments including a medieval Christmas Market that’s coming back for its 8th edition on December 16 and 17, 2017.
Following the success of the previous editions with over 35,000 visitors and about 40 artisans, demonstrators, the association “Les Gardes Foires de Champagn” decided to do it again. This is how was born the eight edition that has it share of discoveries and animations. As in the Middle Age, come along and warm yourself up by dancing farandoles in the middle of a minstrel company.
Roam around the market to discover the calligrapher, the hatter, the specialist of heraldry, the blacksmith, the cabinetmaker and many more. This is the occasion to discover rare works and know-hows and to meet with artisans who are always happy to share their passions with you.
But Provins medieval Christmas market is also a collection of animations for everyone. Whether you’re a child wishing to be in the shoes of a knight or an adult keen on the Middle Age, come to take part and discover free and cultural animations provided all along these two special days. Playful and authentic, the market is hosted by musicians, jugglers, fire-eaters and stilt-walkers.
Knights and fair damsels will leave youngest visitors in awe. Many entertainments expect them: ancient wooden toys, stone carving, workshops and demonstrations of medieval cooking, illuminations, stained-glass windows, pony rides, makeup for children and much more. (Careful, some activities are subject to a small contribution)
