Christmas Market 2018 at Paris La Défense

True Christmas village, La Défense Christmas Market is back from Wednesday November 21 to Sunday December 29, 2018. For this 24th edition, dozens of Christmas cabins will be set up in La Défense square to one and a thousand Christmas presents ideas. In a festive and magic atmosphere, we stroll with our families, we enjoy some Christmas treats and we make the best of the animations!

La Défense Christmas Market, one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) and most beautiful Christmas Market in the Ile-de-France region, expects you again from November 21 to December 29, 2018 for the Holidays.

For about six weeks, La Défense square will accommodate La Défense Christmas village that covers over 12,000 sqm. In addition to the 350 wooden cabins catching your eyes with their numerous presents ideas, 400 sqm of festive decorations and a whole range of various dishes and restaurants welcome you with open arms.

This year, a giant globe and a 18-m tall lightning Christmas tree are on the menu. Come closer! Like magic, lights go on and off when you walk past them. Near the esplanade and the surrounding areas, they've been designed and created especially for Paris La Défense.

These immersive light installations are inspired by the atypical architecture of the business area, like the Christmas tree reminding us of the façade of the Carpe Diem tower, the decorations of the lampposts have been inspired by the Tour First arrow or the light pedestrian trail, a nod at the Moretti chimney. Sticking to its eco-friendly approach, all the lights have been created with 100% energy saving LED.

On the menu, many animations and the visit of Santa Claus of course. A letter box, a phone, a mini animated village, XXL cuddle toys and temporary places to enjoy an eggnog or a cup of mulled wine expect you.

For this edition, initiated by Paris La Défense, the Christmas village welcomes the Réseau Solidarité La Défense promoting the neighborhood solidarity-based actions.

This network includes:

  • The Maison de l'Amitié, a hospitality and support organization for people living in unstable conditions, that takes care, in the Paris La Défense area, of giving meals during the Holidays and breakfasts all year long,

  • The Carillon: a local solidarity-based network between inhabitants and shop-owners committing themselves to provide daily services to people living in unstable conditions (free coffees, mobile phone battery supply...),

  • Entourage: an online platform connecting inhabitants, charities and people living in unstable conditions to carry out solidarity-based actions (supporting administrative actions and resume-rewriting..),

  • Chaînon Manquant: charity fighting against food watse and collection unsold food products and giving them to hospitality organizations in the surroundings.

"Holidays at Paris La Défense are a major event for many Île-de-France inhabitants as well as for French people and strangers. For a few weeks, the business area becomes magical with all these monumental lights and thanks to the biggest Christmas Market in Île-de-France. It's also a peculiar moment where solidarity and sharing and meeting become possible with the support of charities related to the territory." Paris La Défense general manager Marie-Célie Guillaume explains.

You can’t miss La Défense Christmas Market and its festive and comforting atmosphere. With its artisans and producers from all over France, we’re sure to unearth some very good ideas for a successful Christmas Eve Dinner! And if you want to skate around an ice skating rink, go to the top of the Grande Arche.
