The Institut Curie is once again inviting all runners to the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville on November 18, 2023 for another edition of the Course des Lumières, a sporting event in aid of cancer research. Would you prefer a 4km walk or an 8km run?

The Course des Lumières is back this year because research needs support more than ever. Join us on November 18, 2023 in Place de l'Hôtel de Ville for this sporting event organized by theInstitut Curie, , half of whose proceeds are donated to cancer research. Sporty or not, participants can choose between an 8km timed run or a 4km walking course in the heart of the City of Lights.

In 2020, the Course des Lumières raised over 220,000 euros for the fight against cancer. A sum that helped advance research into this disease, which remains the leading cause of death in France, with almost 149,000 deaths a year. 1 in 5 men and 1 in 6 women will develop cancer in their lifetime. The aim of this nocturnal event is to raise awareness of the fight against cancer and give hope to sufferers, by helping to find appropriate treatments through donations.

Each participant will have a luminous object to light up the night against cancer. To underline the convivial spirit of the event, the Village des Lumières will offer participants entertainment throughout the evening, including photo booths and DJ sets. A great time to share with family and friends!
