It's official: FIFA has announced that the opening ceremony of the Women's World Cup will take place in Paris, at the Parc des Prince. From June 7 to July 7, 2019, get ready to vibrate in the capital. The only disappointment is that the final of the Women's World Cup will not be held in Paris, but in Lyon!

It's been known since June 2017 that France will be hosting the FIFA Women's World Cup. A total of 9 cities have been selected to host the soccer matches from June 7 to July 7, 2019. Grenoble, Le Havre, Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes are the big winners of this cup, which should bring together hundreds of thousands of fans.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented: "This first announcement on the road to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup is an important step, as the host cities play a major role in the success of the tournament. France has great expertise in organizing international competitions and I'm delighted that our flagship women's soccer competition will benefit from this."

And this Friday, February 9, 2018, the match schedule was announced:

Paris will therefore host 7 matches in total, and the opening ceremony!

For Jean-François Martins, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of sport, tourism and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, "Paris is proud to host the world's biggest women's sports event at the Parc des Princes. We want to make this a major popular and festive event in Paris, with a program of support for schools, companies, businesses and the general public to develop women's soccer".

The competition will take place from June 7 to July 7, 2019, and will pit the world's 24 best women's soccer teams against each other, in a competition scheme identical to that of EURO 2016. We can't wait to relive the same excitement and moments of sharing as in 2016!
